Naho, host of the Am I Too Late? podcast

About

Hi, I'm Naho

I started this podcast because I had the thought you've probably had — that I'd left it too late, and everyone else had worked this out years ago.

There was a moment where I looked properly at my savings, my pension and the standard guideline figures for what retirement is supposed to cost, and nearly fell off my chair. Not because the numbers were catastrophic — because I'd never actually looked.

That's the thing about starting late. It isn't usually that you've made terrible decisions. It's that nobody ever sat you down and explained how any of it works, and by the time you think to ask, asking feels embarrassing.

Am I Too Late? is the podcast I wanted then. UK-specific, no jargon, no shame, and no pretending that cutting out coffee is a retirement plan. Pensions, ISAs, working out what "enough" actually means for you — explained properly, at the pace of someone who's learning it too.

I've lived in Japan, the UK, and now France, which is its own kind of financial education. I'm not a financial adviser and I'm careful to say so — everything here is educational, and anything that matters should go past someone regulated before you act on it.

Whether you're 38, 48 or 58: you're here now. That's the whole idea.

What I care about getting right

UK accuracy. Real figures from named sources with dates on them — PLSA retirement living standards, verified State Pension rates, current tax years. If a number is from 2025 and it's now 2026, I'd rather say so than quietly leave it.

No false certainty. Anything that projects into the future is a range, not a promise. The tools reflect that, sometimes at the cost of looking less impressive.

Free things staying free. Two of the three tools in the paid toolkit are free elsewhere on this site, and I say so on the sales page rather than hoping you don't notice.
